In a nutshell: The authors of this article argue that although the present financial crisis will inevitably affect primary cancer prevention in several different ways, cancer prevention is more relevant now than ever.  Policy makers can either reduce expenditure in the short-term only to increase it in the long-term or they use the financial crisis as an opportunity to strengthen evidence-based prevention policies.
