In a nutshell: In late 2002, colonoscopy was introduced as a primary screening tool for colorectal cancer (CRC) in Germany. We aimed to estimate the expected reduction in case numbers and incidence of CRC between 2003 and 2010 by detection and removal of advanced adenomas.

Willingness to undergo colorectal cancer screening in first-degree relatives of hospitalized patients with colorectal cancer

In a nutshell:  Research into the willingness to undergo colonoscopy examinations by patients. Two groups were studied, the first group had relatives who were hospitalized for reasons other than colorectol cancer, the second group had first degree relatives who had been hospitalised by colorectal cancer. The group with relatives with colorectal cancer were more willing to be screened.
